Old Town BID timetable to ballot

Old Town Community Council supports the Old Town Business Improvement District (BID) in the lead up to the ballot. We are particularly keen to support these themes identified in the BID’s Next Steps document :

Cleaner streets
• Stronger marketing of the outstanding uniqueness of the Old Town World Heritage Site
• Safety and security
• Parking
Library services
Local Community Planning and Engagement
Open Space Management and Grounds Maintenance
• Public Transport Services
• Roads Maintenance
• Roads Management
Waste Removal
• Winter Maintenance

The BID’s timetable is as follows :

13th November to 13th December
Feedback and drop-in sessions (this ended 29th Nov)
4th January to 12th February
Preparation of business proposal and completion of voter database
19th February
Business proposals submitted to BIDs Scotland
12th March
Business proposals submitted to City of Edinburgh Council and Scottish Government
7th May
Final Business Plan and Ballot Papers issued
21st June
Ballot closes and results announced
